ABOUT ZIN
ZIN is the project to transform Towers 1 and 2 of the WTC complex in the Brussels North area. This emblematic project is the first in the North area to combine different functions in a highly innovative way.

Zin Title  First stone of the Marie-Elisabeth Belpaire building

Besides flats and a hotel, the ZIN project consists of 75,000 m² of new office space for the Flemish government. These 2,400 new workspaces for 4,750 employees are located in the new central volume that connects both towers. On 7 October, the first (symbolic) stone was laid and the new name (Marie-Elisabeth Belpaire building) of the office building of the Flemish government was unveiled in the presence of Flemish Prime Minister, Jan Jambon and Flemish Minister for Brussels Youth and Media, Benjamin Dalle. Zin Title  From rubble to new, high-quality concrete

Are you curious to know how the rubble of the old WTC towers is being turned into high-quality concrete and will be (re)used in the ZIN project? Follow the trip of circular concrete within a 15km radius.

Zin Title Iconic hotel The Standard opens in ZIN (2025)

Lifestyle hotel pioneer The Standard is moving into the ZIN project. With 180 rooms and 20 flats, it will welcome its guests in Brussels as of 2025. Together with the other functions of ZIN, the hotel will contribute to a new dynamic in the Brussels North area.

Stage 01: Application for and issuance of permit

Stage 02: Preparatory work, cleaning and asbestos removal

Stage 03: Dismantling of towers

Stage 04: Construction of central volume, reconstruction of towers, and completion – from April 2021

Stage 05: Building delivery – summer 2024: complete commissioning
