ABOUT ZIN
ZIN is the project to transform Towers 1 and 2 of the WTC complex in the Brussels North area. This emblematic project is the first in the North area to combine different functions in a highly innovative way.

2022 was an incredible year for the ZIN project! Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who contributed. The ZIN project team is more than ready for a sparkling 2023 full of new milestones. We hope you are too!
Highest point reached
In December of last year the ZIN project reached its highest point of 110 metres or 31 floors. To mark the occasion and thank everyone who contributed, Befimmo organised a maypole celebration. This is a centuries-old tradition where a tree is planted on the highest point of the project and a big party is organised for all those involved. We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank each and every one of you because without you this would not have been possible!
Take a look inside the ZIN building
The ZIN building is starting to take shape from the outside. To give you an idea of what ZIN looks like on the inside we developed a 3D scale model of the future offices of the Flemish authorities. The images are an illustration but they give you a good idea of what the interior will look like.

ZIN wins Award for ‘Best tech innovative building’
On 13 December 2022 PropTech Lab organised the first edition of the Innovative Building Awards. ZIN took home the prize for the technologically most innovative project!
Among others, this recognition highlights the work of the project’s BIM team. They enable us to adopt a more digital, innovative and collaborative approach to building sites; at the moment we use 80 co-creative BIM models. Congratulations to the entire team!
ZEN @ZIN
In addition to ZIN, Befimmo is also opening a new office building in the North area of Brussels: ZEN. This is an exclusive work environment with a private entrance, that is part of ZIN’s full service environment. The office building is situated on the side of the soon to be completed, entirely revamped Parc Maximilien. One of the elements ‘ZEN’ refers to is the river “Senne/Zenne” which will once again run through the North quarter.

Stage 02: Preparatory work, cleaning and asbestos removal
Stage 03: Dismantling of towers
Stage 04: Construction of central volume, reconstruction of towers, and completion – from April 2021
Stage 05: Building delivery – end 2023: commissioning offices VO, summer 2024: complete commissioning of other functions
